Eyad, who grew up in an Arab city in Israel, gets the chance to visit a prestigious Jewish boarding school in Jerusalem. As the first and only Arab ever accepted there, he is desperately trying to adapt to his Jewish classmates and Israeli society. Soon Eyad begins to befriend Jonathan, who suffers from muscular dystrophy, and gradually becomes part of his family. Eyad is an outsider, but he wants to be one of them – even if he doesn’t know exactly who or what. He falls in love with Naomi, a Jewish girl, and when this is discovered he has to leave school. He realizes that he has to sacrifice his identity in order to be accepted. Faced with the choice, Eyad makes a drastic decision.
