Bonnie & Bonnie

Yara is 17 and lives in Hamburg-Wilhelmsburg with her father, who is from Albania, and her three siblings. In addition to her job in the supermarket, she throws the family home and spends her free time with her clique. When one day she meets the tough Kiki on the street, suddenly nothing is like before. The two girls fall in love at first sight. While Yara discovers a new, previously unknown freedom in the relationship, Kiki, who grew up in youth homes, experiences for the first time the feeling of genuine closeness and belonging. But no one should know anything about love, especially Not Yara’s conservative father, who has already chosen a husband for her, and her brother Bekim, who himself has turned a blind eye to Kiki. When the family learns about the relationship anyway, Yara has to decide. And flees with her lover to the south of France, where Kiki’s sister is supposed to live.
