In the second season, Oliver Kienle tells how the financial world is reinventing itself six months after the crisis that ended the first season. Tighter requirements make the business of the merged German Global Invest (DGI) extremely cumbersome. For the new head of investment Christelle Leblanc (Désirée Nosbusch), the long-awaited ascension to the Board of Management is a long way off. Even for Jana Liekam (Paula Beer) things are not going according to plan in Frankfurt. But she has long since put herself in position with her team. While the old banking world is only halfway through, the young financial industry is undergoing a fundamental change in small mobile start-ups and fintechs. In order to meet the huge challenge of digitalization, DGI is setting up an incubator in Berlin, a “breeding box” for young FinTechs, which are to be raised and brought to the market with the bank’s investment. Jana is to take over the management of a FinTech that focuses on sustainable financial products. But secretly she drives her own agenda – after all, she still has a bill with Leblanc open. For Jana, the dazzling, turbulent capital becomes both an opportunity and a challenge, not least because an old acquaintance is returning to her life, the charismatic Gabriel Fenger (Barry Atsma).
